*Regarding food coloring: there is much debate over whether it can trigger allergies in some dogs, or cause hyperactivity.

The overall consensus seems to be that once in a while is okay. Please be careful with substituting plain old food coloring with organic food coloring, as you could inadvertently give your dog dangerous ingredients. Currants, for example, are sometimes used to make organic red food coloring and are toxic todogs.

If you know of another safe alternative, our ears are perked! Tell us in the comments!

Remember, this is a hypoallergenic dog treat forour canine friends, who aren’t really prone to peanut allergies.

I grew up with a wonderful German Shepherd named Jake, who I loved SO much that I named my son after him. When I'm not writing for DogVills or my own site, Pretty Opinionated, I love spending time with my teenager (when he actually lets me) and my Pharaoh Hound, Freya. I'm also an avid reader AND a total TV fanatic.
